Building on engineering experience acquired while designing and manufacturing specialized equipment, Daniel Bédard founded his own firm, Conception D. Bédard, in 1981, aiming to address heavy industry’s requirements for non-standard equipment.

1981 - 1989 | Design and Engineering
For the first mandates, CDB carries out all the design and engineering activities and relies on freelance draftspersons for the drawings execution.

1983 - 1984 | Computer-Assisted Design (CAD)
Always looking for highly performing solutions, Daniel Bédard did not hesitate to join in the emerging computer science trends. He foresaw the efficiency potential of computer-assisted design (CAD) which would become essential tools to engineering. He introduced computerized systems for accounting, cost control, filing, design and plan production processes. As a result, Conception D. Bédard acquired an excellent reputation for the clarity and accuracy of its design and engineering documents.

1989 | First Shop
CDB sets up a manufacturing and production plant to ensure better control over the final assembly and the finished product quality.

1994 | International Marketplace
CDB makes an agreement with a large American distributor to market and distribute hydraulic equipments produced it its Longueuil plant, including hydraulic arms, compactors and Apiles drivers. The sales network covers the United States and other countries. As a result, equipments designed and built by CDB are found in many U.S. states as well as in South American (Brazil, Chile, Mexico), Asia, Africa, Australia, as well as in many Scandinavian countries.

1999 | Second Shop
